PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

March 1972 - Present
Director/Chief Executive Officer - Ingber Gallery

Established a contemporary art gallery from inception. Feature works by contemporary painters and sculptors. The Ingber Gallery has curated and presented over 80 one-person shows and 13 group shows. Among important exhibitions include a one man show by Louis Finkelstein featuring paintings of New York City at the Arsenal Gallery in conjunction with Martin Lang, New York City Commissioner of Parks: "Ladies in Amagansett," sculptures by Rosemary Cove exhibited at Magansett Square in Amagansett, New York; "A Gift From the Sea," 1977, works by Edith Schloss. Painterly Representation 1975, Catalogue Text by Louis Finkelstein: Artists Robert DeNiro, Nell Blaine, Paul Resika, Fairfield Porter, Albert York, Elias Goldberg, Herman Rose, Mercedes Matter, Leland Bell, L Matthiasdottir, Gretna Campbell, Rosemarie Beck, Paul Georges, Louis Finkelstein; Traveled to 15 Universities and Museums. "Past, Present, and Peculiar," 1979, catalogue: introduction by April Kingsley.

EXHIBITIONS & ACTIVITIES IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE GALLERY:

The gallery has presented poetry reading, dance and music recitals, and has produced and shown documentary films. The gallery has published a number of color posters including: Knox Martin Graphics, Judith Godwin, Let's Fly A Kite by Rosemary Cove. Barbara Ingber has been included in many panel discussions, seminars at prominent institutions and has appeared on radio and television.

Outside activities include: 1980, established contracts for Betty Klavun with the New York Housing Authority to design and contract sculpture playhouses to contribute to the amelioration of the South Bronx involving community participation. A documentary film was also prepared; 1981 curated an exhibition of works by Judith Godwin at the Women’s Bank in Richmond. Virginia; 1981 curated a benefit exhibition of over 40 artists’ works for the National Kidney Foundation of New York held at the 112 Greene Street Gallery.

Director
Established an art gallery featuring works of "New York" painters. The gallery featured one-man shows and exhibitions as well as group shows. Curated "Women in the Arts Show" at the Stanford Museum. Stamford. CT. This was the first museum show featuring works of women in the arts at the Stanford Museum.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:

Over the years, have participated in many volunteer activities to promote the arts in the New York Metropolitan area. Most recently established an internship program at the gallery to enable college art majors to obtain exposure and experience while earning college credits.

Survival of the Fittest

Paintings by the late Anne Tabachnick, Robert De Niro, Sr. and Arisrodimos Kaldis. This project "Survival of the Fittest" was dedicated to preserve and expand the artists that have died but have left as their legacy the everlasting life of their spirit through their paintings.
